- - CALLED TO CARE - -
Called to Care: St. John's Cares, is a program offering special ministry by voluntary CAREGIVERS, on call to respond to special needs of our members and neighbors. Please contact the church office to reach the Program coordinator to receive response for one or more of these needs:
visitation - recreational outing - transportation - short-term child care
respite care - prayer support - household chores - crisis calling
minor repairs (within reason) - telephone contact
meal preparation - sending cards and/or letters
Unlike a care system like a visiting nurse, day care services, or cleaning services, "Called to Care" is a network of support available during emergency and crisis situations. The primary goal of the "Called to Care" program is to have our members and neighbors in need, know that we care for them.
- - ST. JOHN'S JOKERS - -
Meets the second Thursday of each month at 1:00 p.m. in the Social Room.
For Seniors and those at home during the day, join the St. John's Jokers for an entertaining afternoon. Members take turns hosting the event.
Be sure to bring a joke to start out the afternoon in the spirit of fun.
- - WOMEN'S FELLOWSHIP - -
Meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Social Hall from September through May.
For 50+ years, all women of St. John's are members of the Women's Fellowship and are invited to attend its monthly gatherings. Members present the programs, which are based on United Church of Christ resources for women.
Special events throughout the year include speakers, a hymn sing at the Dallastown Nursing Center, fund raisers, and our May covered dish dinner. The congregation is invited to hear special speakers, and our fund raisers benefit the Red Lion area and beyond.
